A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. A. Bhargava, Department of Surgery and the Osher Center for Integrative Medicine, UCSF, San Francisco, CA. Our lab is interested in studying gut-brain interactions and the role of the corticotropin-releasing factor system (neuropeptides and their GPCRs) using animal models of diseases. Requirements: Candidates should have a PhD or equivalent in Neuroscience/Physiology or related fields. The qualified candidate must be proficient in the use and handling of rodents and surgical techniques, including experience with stereotaxic surgery. Working knowledge in basic cell and molecular biological laboratory techniques, including cell culturing (primary cells and cell lines), SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, RT-PCR, qRT-PCR, immunofluorescence analysis, and microscopy is highly essential. The successful candidate will be highly self-motivated and possess excellent verbal and written communications skills.
