APPLY FOR THIS JOB Job DescriptionCenter for Veterinary Health Sciences, Oklahoma State University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor as part of the NIH-funded Centers for Biomedical Research Excellence (CoBRE), Oklahoma Center for Respiratory and Infectious Diseases (OCRID). A PhD, DVM or equivalent degree in a relevant field is required. The candidates who have a research focus on respiratory pathogens are particularly desirable although candidates with background in other respiratory or infectious diseases will be considered. The successful candidate will be expected to have (Associate Professor) or develop (Assistant Professor) and maintain an extramurally-supported research program, collaborate with center investigators, participate in center activities, and contribute to graduate education. An appointment will be made in one of the three academic departments appropriate to the candidate’s research interests. OCRID (ocrid.okstate.edu/) brings together experts from Oklahoma State University, the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center and the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation to study various aspects of respiratory infections by respiratory syncytial virus, influenza virus and other viral and bacterial pathogens, covering disease pathogenesis, therapeutics, molecular mechanisms of disease resistance, and bioengineering. The Center has three core facilities: Animal Model, Immunopathology and Molecular Biology. Stillwater is a growing college town (population about 50,000) with a low cost of living located about 1 hour from both the Oklahoma City and Tulsa metropolitan areas.
