NATIONAL EYE INSTITUTE, NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF HEALTH, BETHESDA, MD AND SURROUNDING AREA A postdoctoral fellowship position is available to study proteins that affect the function of the retina. The current goal of our section is the elucidation of the mechanisms by which PEDF, a multifunctional factor with neurotrophic, antiangiogenic, antitumorigenic, antimetastatic, antiinflammatory and stem cell self renewal properties, affect retina physiology and disease. Major interests include: cell-surface receptors, protein interactions, signal transduction, structure-function, lipids, extracellular matrix, sustained delivery systems. Additional information and references may be found on the NIH and NEI Web sites, www.nei.nih.gov/intramural/protein_struct_func.asp, irp.nih.gov/pi/s-patricia-becerra.
