he NASA Exoplanet Science Institute at Caltech announces the 2015 Carl Sagan Postdoctoral Fellowship Program and solicits applications for fellowships to begin in the fall of 2015. The Sagan Fellowships support outstanding recent postdoctoral scientists to conduct independent research that is broadly related to the science goals of the NASA Exoplanet Exploration program. The primary goal of missions within this program is to discover and characterize planetary systems and Earth-like planets around nearby stars. The proposed research may be theoretical, observational, or instrumental.
This program is open to applicants of any nationality who have earned (or will have earned) their doctoral degrees on or after 1 January 2012 in astronomy, physics, or related disciplines. The fellowships are tenable at US host institutions of the fellows' choice, subject to a maximum of one new fellow per host institution per year.
The duration of the fellowship is up to three years: an initial one-year appointment and two annual renewals contingent on satisfactory performance and availability of NASA funds. The announcement of opportunity, which includes detailed program policies and application instructions, is available on the NExScI website.
Applicants must follow the instructions given in this announcement. Applications must be submitted electronically through the above website. Inquiries about the Sagan Fellowships may be directed tosaganfellowship@ipac.caltech.edu.
The deadline for both applications and letters of reference is Thursday, 6 November 2014. Offers will be made before 1 February 2015, and new appointments are expected to begin on or about 1 September 2015

NRAO Seeks Applicants for Jansky Fellowship Program
Tuesday, August 26, 2014 - 13:23
The National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO) announces the 2015 Jansky Fellowship Program, which provides outstanding postdoctoral opportunities for research in astronomy. Jansky Fellows formulate and carry out investigations either independently or in collaboration with others within the wide framework of interests of the observatory. Prior radio-astronomy experience is not required, and multiwavelength projects leading to a synergy with NRAO instruments are encouraged. NRAO also encourages applications from candidates with interest in radio-astronomy instrumentation, computation, and theory.
The deadline for applications and letters of reference is Monday, 3 November 2014. Award offers will be made by 10 February 2015, with fellowships normally expected to begin in September 2015.
Additional information regarding the 2015 Jansky Fellowship Program, including the application procedure, is available at the NRAO science website.
